RECONCILING CELEBRATION!
We were honored to welcome the people and pastors from Greenland Hills, St. Stephen, Northhaven, and Grace UMCs to our church. They came bringing food and affirming words for our celebration together. It was a great evening – more potlucks are being planned! We look forward to ministry together.

YOUNG LIVES
The last Young Lives meeting of the 2014-2015 school year takes place on Thursday, May 14. We are so proud to be involved with this group’s efforts to support young mothers in the Lakewood and East Dallas area, and we would love to have as many volunteers as possible on hand! Volunteers can help us to provide a healthy meal for the girls and their children, or can come to the nursery and hold babies during the meeting. If you would like to help out, please contact Eva Cherry at evabcherry@gmail.com or (214) 701-2417.
The following letter was recently received from the Oak Lawn United Methodist Church:
Pastor Gayle,
On behalf of the Oak Lawn UMC family, please accept our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for the presence and spirit of biblical hospitality shown by the “Lakewood Angels” at our Community Worship Service and Soup Potluck on Sunday, March 22. This beautiful worship experience, which brought together all of the Oak Lawn family, was made all the more wonderful because of the bright smiles and caring attention on full display from the people of Lakewood. It is truly our privilege and honor to be in relationship with you all.
Again, thank you for all you do to truly make disciples of Jesus Christ, transforming our communities…and the world.
In Him,
Dr. Anna Hosemann-Butler, Senior Pastor
Rev. Gregg Alan Smith, Dir., Oak Lawn Community Outreach Center

LEARN TO MEDITATE ON A SPIRITUAL PASSAGE
You are invited to join the Dallas Lakewood Satsang for a 4-week introduction course to learn about the 8 Point Program of Passage Meditation. The meetings will take place at Lakewood UMC, Room 206.
Meditation has been widely and deeply researched over the past 20 years and has been found to improve concentration, deepen personal relationships, calm the nervous system, and help individuals to find purpose, peace, and joy in their lives.
Passage Meditation is a tried and tested way of training the mind that has been practiced by thousands of people in countries all over the world for over 50 years.
It is a universal and inclusive practice that teaches meditation using a spiritual text: a prayer, or part of a scripture from any of the world’s great traditions—or an excerpt from the writings of saints and sages of all religious traditions.
Please join us to learn more about this beneficial and transformative life skill. There is no fee.
