Children and Youth

We are currently not meeting in person due to efforts to stop spread of the coronavirus. Nevertheless, we have several "Messy Church"-like resources for families to use at home on our facebook page: www.facebook.com/lumcmessychurch/. If you need any craft supplies and/or have other ideas for what would be helpful to guide your kids at this time, please email Rev. Patrick Littlefield at littlefield.patrick@gmail.com and we will hook you up!

Introducing a new community at Lakewood UMC for families and children who wish church was a little more messy!

We’ve combined the best educational practices used in your kids’ schools with the spiritual heart of our church to create a time together where kids can respond to Bible stories through interactive centers.

When you and your children come to Messy Church, you will encounter fun music, an interactive Bible story, and then several centers where your child can respond to the story in creative ways. Each week the centers are curated to fit uniquely with the Bible story being explored, and will generally include sensory stations for the younger ages and various arts, crafts, and games for the older ages. After time in centers, all will gather together for communion where we will share what we've experienced.

Plus, once a month Messy Church will include a community service outing suitable for the whole family, so that you can put faith in action and give back to the community!

Interested? Click here to visit our Facebook Page for regular updates (And don't forget to like it to stay informed)!

Messy church is for children 0-12 years old and their parents/guardians.

Join us every Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
