Blood Drive
We are partnering this year with Greenland Hills UMC, Ridgewood Park UMC, and the Red Cross to offer opportunities for anyone in our neighborhood to donate blood.
Open Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors.
Lakewood United Methodist Church embraces the concept of Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors. We affirm that all people are created in the image of God and, as beloved children of God, are worthy of God's love and grace. Our faith moves us to welcome and celebrate all persons of every age, gender identity, racial or ethnic background, sexual orientation, marital or socio-economic status, physical or mental ability to full participation in our faith community. We invite all people in our journey toward greater understanding and mutual respect and reconciliation through Christ.
As we return to in-person worship, we recognize that many are not yet comfortable coming back in person yet. We will continue to stream worship virtually for the foreseeable future.
If and when you decide to join us in the sanctuary, there will be mandatory guidelines listed below that our trustees have established along with the guidance of the CDC and our North Texas Conference. In order to ensure the safety of everyone in our building, especially our visitors and elderly members, we will strictly enforce the following guidelines:
- Masks will be required for everyone over the age of 5 while indoors (we will have disposable masks available)
- Please enter and exit through garden doors or the door on Lakeshore Dr., we will have greeters to welcome people in
- We will not be serving refreshments for now
- There will be hand sanitizing stations throughout the building
- Some pews will be blocked off to maintain appropriate distancing, family units can sit together
- Our music will continue to be scaled back, though we will still have amazing soloists, a few choir members, and our organ!
